Let's be real, if he was not a first round pick he would be gone by now. Steichen and Ballard need one of two things to happen to save their jobs. 1.) AR to work out and be a QB1... or 2.) Make the playoffs. Clearly 2 must be seeming more likely than 1, at least for now.
I can absolutely picture a scenario where they think both can be done, but not all at once. Start Jones and make sure you win some early games. Eventually his limitations hit, it's not enough to make the PO, and AR comes in to hopefully fulfill 1 AND 2. Good luck gentleman, lol.
