At some point we need to just accept that the majority of Texas voters are happy with these things. They keep voting for these people. That's on them. We need to stop pretending like Texans secretly don't want any of this and just have to vote GOP. Opinion polls don't matter. Votes do.
American conservatism is inherently selfish. It is built around you thinking only of yourself and what matters to you. That's how you end up with these politicians and policies. It's also why conservatives magically change a personal position when they are negatively impacted. It hurt them.
