Was "going to see the man on the wall" a euphemism for using the outside toilet?
No, it was graffiti on a wall round the back of Gordon Street. It's so ingrained in my memory that I reckon I could draw it. We lived in the countryside, so mum must've hyped this unremarkable graffiti to the point that it was a 'must see' when we visited.
