there is also another smaller lake near Lake Tahoe called Fallen Leaf Lake that has whole preserved upright underwater trees in it, it's basically an underwater forest. it's completely in california though π

Isn't amazing? It's very lovely. South Lake has a ren faire earlier in the year. No fun if it's snowING, but after it snows, it's very photogenic.

It really is pretty magical up there. There's one this weekend and the next few weekends down in the Gilroy area that's much bigger, and loads of fun.
