Broadly agree with your sentiment but the govt have objected to the actions taken by Israel in Gaza & the West Bank. It just doesn't get reported much & I get it's far less than you'd like, but expressed pretty clearly & in conjunction with EU & Canada

Ta! I get a bit annoyed when the govt are unfairly blamed for stuff, but I suppose that's all part of the govt/media problem.
It’s so far short of what is needed, and when they are still actively arming Israel I’m afraid I can’t contain my cynicism. They have also backed away from recognising a Palestinian State which would give a clear message to Israel and the world.
Ok, i think i knew it would be a mistake to answer the previous, but they had actually made a statement against Israel's activities. If it's ok with you, can we just draw a line bcos i have thoughts that'll lead to a falling out & i really don't want that, we've had some lovely chats in the past 🙂

I apologise. I work in an area connected directly with Palestine, Israel, Jordan etc, so what is perhaps academic for many people is absolutely front & central to my everyday life. These are my friends & colleagues being blown up & made homeless, & I am so deeply ashamed of our govt’s inadequacy.

Not exactly, several steps removed, but my friends & colleagues are being decimated, losing their lives & their homes, & I’m perhaps more familiar than many of the more arcane & devious tools of oppression & genocide which extend far beyond what we see on our tv screens.

I don’t believe that all labour government mps are bigots anymore than all Tory’s are. I will make an exception for Reform! Any government in power now would have problems with the migrant crisis. Torys tried to sort it with the barge fiasco and Rwanda neither got off the ground and cost millions.
I make a distinction between MPs & the govt. My Labour MP is pretty amazing I think (even though I didn’t vote for her because of the Labour position on Palestine). I keep on wondering when she’s going to defect to the Greens. It must be bloody uncomfortable for her tbh.
