It was bad enough when I had to change domain names. (A hacker stole my old dotcom domain and squatted it so I had to rebrand to antibunny.net) I couldn't imagine if I had to update everything at the whims of the psychopaths who run social media.

How was the hacker able to get your old domain? I never have had a domain myself, but I do know that you have to renew them every so often.
They started by spoofing an old email address. Sent an email request to change username and password. Then sold it to themselves. The registrar refused to listen to me. NEVER use joker. I thankfully saw it coming, and had about a year to buy the .net domain and start rebranding. I use 1 and 1 now.
