In her world, everyone has at least 10 million £££

No, she gets it. What the media will do is frame it how she set it out, not how Kinnock did. Puts the idea consistently on the back foot with questions like “what do you say to people who are worried that the policy will mean they can’t afford to stay in their homes?”
It’s official @privateeyenews.bsky.social in this weeks issue have replaced her in the “Marvel” strip with Fagman the “ new superhero in town”.
But the only constituents she is interested in, are millionaires with assets greater than 10 million.
If I had £20m say, a 2% tax on wealth over £10m would be £0.2m, chickenfeed for someone in that position. To go to all the trouble of emigrating to avoid paying it, strikes me as ludicrous.
She's happy to see disabled people have their support cut though. Tone deaf.
Do you understand the wealth tax though? What assets are included? Who determines the value? What is done with antiques, classic cars or artwork? How many inspectors are needed. If it isn’t well conceived the richest will avoid it and/or it will cost more to administer than it generates
I agree. Ive always been against it simply because no one and I mean no one can tell me how it is going to be collected. If closing loopholes that labour have done makes it easier so be it but I need detail before I get behind anything. And of it raises a good amount.
The average inheritance left in the UK is around £107,000. So no need to set it as high as £10M. Set it at £1M or £2M and above. 1% from £1M (or £2M) - £5M and 2% up to £1B and 3% on anything above £1B. It won't affect any other than the top 5% or so of the population. They can afford it with ease!
If you live in London in a modest house it's worth over 1 million. A reasonable pension pot for a professional person is over 1 million. So 2 million seems a little low to me
Scare tactics by scared leader.
She’s hoping the media repeat it and then they will have another stick to beat Labour with.
Badenough understands very little. She is also totally lacking in empathy.
Ah, but the ones with £10m are the only ones she gives a toss about.
She appears more dim with every PMQs.
She’s the MP for North West Essex -she is definitely talking about her constituents.
Amazing language by someone who never makes gaffs.
Well … she didn’t say all constituents. In her affluent constituency I would imagine multiple people would be affected.
But, but she’s getting ‘better’ every week 🤦♀️
Fuck! I didn't know I had 10mil hidden somewhere! Who knew we were all multi millionaires?
