I read peter hook from new order re the claim that drum machines weren't music bc they lack human element. "Who the fuck do they think is programming the drum machines?" And new order is great by anybody's standard, so I can't rule ai out entirely. But that assumes a genius is at the wheel.

Is it possible that this technology awaits its Beethoven? I genuinely don't know but I do know that the current output doesn't meet the first criterion of music: created by a human to express something.
