Realist. If, somehow, America has free/fair elections again, there won't be much left. Trump and his robber baron cohorts will have robbed the country blind. That is really the goal, after all. Having the presidency is just the means.

Like I said. Being defeatist is no help. We have lots of ways to fight this. Giving up beforehand is NOT an option.

Yes. It is important to recalibrate to the realities of the situation. To understand (and expect) that norms, rules, the law are now movable rather than being surprised/naive about guardrails. Need to look to failed fascist/autocratic regimes to see what works to beat back the entrenchment.
