Again, because they're linking to CourtListener, it's harder for me to verify where AltNPS is getting their info. So with the caveat that I can't prove where they saw this, I think it's most likely they saw it in the New York Times at 2:51 PM CDT on 8/15/25. web.archive.org/web/20250816...

Alt National Park Service: More bad news! A federal appeals court has cleared the Trump administration to push forward with plans to gut the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, overturning a lower court’s attempt to halt mass layoffs. In a 2–1 decision, the D.C. Circuit ruled that U.S. District Judge Amy Berman Jackson lacked authority to block the administration’s move to lay off roughly 1,500 of the agency’s 1,700 employees. The majority opinion was written by Judge Gregory G. Katsas, a Trump appointee.

I think AltNPS is trying to amplify reporting about what this Admin. is doing, how it is hurting Americans, cutting services, giving tax cuts to millionaires and billionaires. Sometimes it may be more important to get the word out than provide citation every time. If different people are working

on posting, maybe they don't know. You could contact them directly...

I hear you, but respectfully disagree. In most cases, I would understand that mistakes happen, and we live in hectic times. But AltNPS has *systematically* avoided citing sources, to a level that can only be intentional. I've collected a list of their reposted headlines here:

And that's not even touching their outright, unambiguous plagiarism. I could understand missing a citation here and there, but this is just blatant theft of another's work, and they've done this several times as well.

As for contacting them directly, I've tried! They blocked me. Months ago, I also sent them an email (or maybe it was a question through their website?) asking about their merch store and why there's so little information about the business online, and they never responded.

For what it's worth @la4ygogo.bsky.social , I appreciate you engaging with me respectfully on this, and I hope I came off respectfully in return. Usually when someone gets in my replies, they assume I'm some MAGA fascist and things go downhill from there. Thanks for the good faith!

And after some quick examination, this one is egregious. AltNPS really went to Thesaurus.com and changed keywords, but were too lazy to even bother rewriting NYT journalist Karoun Demirjian's work. Decimate -> Gut Effort -> Attempt Block -> Halt About -> Roughly

Alt National Park Service: A federal appeals court HAS CLEARED the Trump administration to PUSH FORWARD with plans to GUT the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, OVERTURNING a lower court’s ATTEMPT to HALT mass layoffs. Karoun Demirjian: A federal appeals court PAVED THE WAY for the Trump administration to MOVE AHEAD with plans to DECIMATE the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, ruling 2 to 1 to THROW OUT a lower court’s EFFORT to BLOCK mass layoffs. In the 49-page ruling, Judge Gregory G. Katsas of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit, a Trump appointee, wrote that Judge Amy Berman Jackson of the Federal District Court in Washington HAD NO JURISDICTION to block the Trump administration’s efforts to lay off ABOUT 1,500 of the C.F.P.B.’s 1,700 workers.

Yes, lots of us use CourtListener alerts to keep up on new docket entries but they're not doing these things organically or they wouldn't be rewriting someone else's description

They can try to hide it, but absolutely nothing about AltNPS has changed. They are, at their core, still lazy, arrogant thieves. Don't give them your attention, don't give them your trust, and under no circumstances should you ever give them your money.
