Before moving to Norway, buying stuff, buying concert tickets, or traveling, implied preemptively saving for it. Saying yeah whatever here is my card still feels wrong

And that's what defines "Chilean middle class". You can live well, have access to top tier education, you can pay for some little luxuries (a concert and a trip per year), but if you get an expensive disease or get fired, everything goes downhill.
