In 2005, when he started? If you are based in North America in that year, and don't dream of the biggest stage in the world. Doesn't seem possible. Any athlete strives for the biggest stage, or why do it.

In 2005 there was TNA, ROH, NJPW, AJPW, a thriving Indy scene, Europe, etc. WWE is a brand of wrestling, like Marvel is a production company that produces a type of movie. There are other types of movie. If your dream isn’t to star in a Marvel movie, that does not make you any less of an actor.
It sounds like you have a particular viewpoint that keeps you from seeing others. Maybe they like Lucha or strong style? Maybe they like the culture elsewhere? There’s more to a decision about where to work than just “the biggest stage.”
I refuse to believe in 2005, he thought, sure i will muddle around the indies, I don't want to go to Wrestlemania.
You have a very limited view. I don’t know anyone who considers AAA or NJPW indies. Is it that hard to believe that people who’ve never worked in WWE never wanted to work in WWE?
He has never worked for either. In 15 years of the indies, seems he wasn't good enough to go to AAA or NJPW, and almost every one in both at some time in their lives, wanted to go to WWE. Just like any player in minor league baseball or basketball, they want to be in MLB or NBA.
WWE is the Yankees, not Major League Baseball. WWE frequently promotes the idea that any smart baseball player would sign a minor league contract with the Yankees over a major league contract with any other team even though that makes zero sense.
Josh was in the minors for over 15 years before TNA. Toiling the indies. He never worked for AAA or NJPW, so he was never on what you call an equivalent to even the lowly Chicago Whitesox.
So? What does that have to do with WWE being the equivalent of the entirety of Major League Baseball? According to WWE, they are specifically the Yankees. AAA isn't the biggest promotion in Mexico just because WWE owns it, by the way.
Also, it's weird to use the White Sox as an example because they aren't the worst team in baseball this year, and they are the only franchise to ever fix the world series. Show some respect.
I never said he did. I said he didn’t work for WWE and he said he never dreamed of it. I simply said there’s plenty of other companies out there that he may have wished to work for. But thats his life. I’m just saying that even if you can’t believe his statement, it’s his statement to make.
NJPW, AAA, CMLL aren't indies. CMLL runs more shows than WWE.
