To obtain The Real ID requires your current passport or unexpired drivers license, certified birth certificate, mortgage statement or apartment lease agreement, your electric bill, social security card or current paystub w/ss number…why would ICE need more than that when you have already proved it!

The whole point of RealID is that it’s… real ID. It constitutes official proof of identity rather than de facto correlation due to being a vehicle operator’s license with your picture and birthday on it. What were they hoping to see, here?
They are looking for citizenship info, which RealID doesn’t necessarily have.
They have also claimed passports were fake and confiscated them before detaining people. They straight up steal people's cash, phones and jewelry too.
A really good question. I suspect that if pressed they would say that woke bureaucrats who issued these IDs can't be trusted.

Cops are not required to know the law and are free to do things in the name of ones they dont understand and/or have made up. Those things don't stand in court, but they can still traumatize and harm you.
