I think this sort of thing is why traditional measures of our wealth (inflation GDP etc) are increasingly irrelevant as we are being scammed & scraped from all sides for every penny. Whether technically legal or not it is inequitable & unfair. Like having slum landlords in every aspect of our lives.

Had to have a chat with my 80 year old dad about it at the weekend. He cot a “Hello Dad this is my new number” Me and the kids often get the “This is Dad” ones. Luckily the kids tend to ignore any messages from me anyway 😄

Likewise on all counts! We have also realised that there may be emergencies where we need to contact each other through unorthodox means (e.g. someone else's phone) that will be dismissed as a scam. We have a family codeword now in case this happens.

Smart move.
