This CENTURY is deceptively narrow. Gough ended conscription, withdrew our invading forces from Vietnam, made the Pill available to all women, enacted tons of legislation to make women equal members of Australian society, eradicated University fees, etc. etc. etc. Who was the best PM, EVER?

Gough would tear Elbow to pieces. This is a government that doesn't really know what to do with political power other than to hold on to it. They do rather like the pointy end of the aircraft though, a subject that Gough famously addressed.
