That's because nobody knows anything. Almost every time I have like 30 minutes to an hour to talk to someone who was for Trump and I tell them what Bernie wanted to do how he was going to do it, they either agree or bring up that he had three houses. You know they voted for 11 house McCain though
Its because they were sold on grievance politics. The Republicans gave them the simpliest of things to argue about that made them feel they were in the known. You talk to them about actual issues, they respond with complaints. It was designed to distract, not inform.
It wasn't even designed to distract. I mean it does have that benefit but... I've known for years that when they do brain scans on conservative brains they find an increased fear center of the brain. If you don't think that mainstream propaganda doesn't know that... They do. Fear brainwashing.
Regarding Trump, it in fact was designed to distract from the fact that the Republicans did not want to help legislate on any issue their supporters wanted addressed. Instead, they fed them simple things to complain about to distract from the fact that they won the House and would do nothing with it
It's not just simple things though. It's the trans are coming for your kids. The immigrants are coming for your houses. The illegals are coming for your jobs. The Democrats are coming for your guns. The blacks are coming for your taxes. It's all based on fear more than simplicity.
When I say simple, I base it on simple issues that they can comprehend. Not based on policy nor its workings. Just plain old everyday targets they recognize as their boogieman.
