Our camp property is not far from the Vanderbilt exit off of I-75. It's a great area to explore. Trout fishing the rivers in the surrounding counties can be pretty special.

We do most of our trout fishing on the Black River, though we’ve put in many hours on the Pigeon, too. The book I mention in this post takes place in the Pigeon River Forest. Ever eat at the diner in Vanderbilt?
I've never eaten at the Mill Street Diner yet. I'm usually on my way to go fishing and they're not open. In the past we've visited the Elkhorn bar or Corwith Station down the road for a prime rib dinner or a burger. I like to cook as a hobby so stopping for food isn't a priority for me.
I’ve never had Corwith. Good?
It was brand new when I went there. It was pretty good. Nothing spectacular but good. They were short of staff. It's worth a visit if you're in the area.
When we are up there we do most of our cooking over the fire, but do come into town for Mill Street on our last morning. In May, we each had a 14 inch brookie off The Black!
Mill Street has great breakfasts! We saw this big boy on Wednesday!
I love that cover! So pretty!
Thank you! I’m pleased too!
