DCI Flanagan: “if convicted they are facing potentially serious consequences that could impact on their careers and their ability to travel overseas” Whilst I don’t want to discount OAPs from extending careers or foreign travel, I’m guessing Flanagan’s threats are water off a duck’s back here.

I didn't read that at all as patronising. I read it as, it's not just the youth that are up in arms. Elders, in general have less to lose. No boss to worry about, no mortgage payments to worry about. The fact that this protest is punishable at all is ludicrous.

Don't see the relevance of their age. Are older people with active minds expected to just spend their days sitting in a rocking chair, cat on lap & cup of tea in hand? They go into it knowing exactly what they are doing & don't need to be patronised.
