That is the coolest thing I will see all day, maybe all week 😱😍🎯
That is the coolest thing I will see all day, maybe all week 😱😍🎯
They’re so badass.
Awesome! 😎😍
Wonder if the fish was thinking, "Where is the water?"
Absolutely stunning 🤩
Wow!
💪👍
The fact that they can dive then raise themselves enough from the water to free their wings whilst holding a fish is astounding.
Osprey also don't have water repellant feathers like ducks or other water fowl. Those first flaps are throwing enough water off their wings to be able to fly again. Overcoming the issue with raw power.
It’s so badass.
Indeed. the bird and the artist.
The Creator, the bird and the artist
I wondered about that!! I was like they can fly with wet feathers?! I guess I thought birds worked like guns? Mostly ineffective when wet 🤣
Geese, pelicans, cormorants, and others would like a word.😆
The word ‘ineffective’ does not apply to ospreys.
Not to be a hater but osprey have an uropygial gland which makes oil that makes their feathers water resistant just like ducks
That's interesting! I'd always heard the opposite. I wonder if their glands aren't as good as ducks. Because they definitely look soaked when they surface, and you can see them throw off the excess water. Thank you for posting!
I’m not sure I don’t know much about birds other than loving Wingspan. I’ve also never seen a duck bust a move like that osprey!
Sometimes they don't get from the water because the fish is too big.
And with the fish fighting underwater, too.
I wish they heard the same music as we do!!
Boy, he had a successful fishing trip. What a stunning bird
Mmmm Pompano for dinner
😮
Great video! Next up an eagle swoops down and steals the fish when the harassed osprey drops it. That’s how it’s been going on the lake I live on….
Not so majestic when eating his catch while it is still alive. We have an osprey that we see doing this on top of a telephone pole behind our house. Not a pretty sight.
Wedgetail Eagles here, very big and impressive birds, sometimes take young lambs. Most people would be horrified to see it, but generally people think of fish differently. Yet a fish being taken out of water like this is effectively suffocating and most likely experiencing pain.
Plants can live off of dirt and sunlight, but animals need to eat other living things.
Good to know. 😁
Absolutely. It's the dissonance I'm remarking on.
It’s a dive through
Wow!
I wonder...if...for the fish...it seemed like someone swooped in from another dimension and snatched it out...into another dimension. I need coffee.
So impressive! The power it must need to take off from a soaking, dead stop carrying a weight. Amazing
This is a badass bird. This is how I want someone to remove Trumps dumbass from the White House.
bellissimo!
Awesome 😎
I'm side eyeing Gavin now.
Nice size fish
Magnificent!
That bird is very talon-ted!
😂
Amazing/
He catches larger fish than I do
Wow!!
looking forward to seeing some this week in Bar Harbor, ME. Last time I was here i was fortunate enough to watch one out my window enjoying a recent catch of a fish
Incredible!
Amazing, thanks for sharing
Awesome
Big fish! Can he hold it??
Everything tastes salty when you are an osprey.
Have you seen the one with the Pelicans are trying to take the fish from the Osprey? Intense..
Perfection! 💙👍🏼
2 things I can guarantee DJT: Will never word salad have plagiarized. Will never be called LBJ. LBJ had a vision of a great society, was a champion of civil liberties. Predicted 45-47, said if U convince lowest white man he is better than best person of color he will pick his own pocket 4 U!
Beautiful to watch the Osprey catch his tucker. It is an amazing bird to watch
Amazing!
OMG ..that fish is HUGE! Yowza!😆😳
Wow!
Great timeline cleanser. 🦅 Thank you 🙏😊
Love osprey, beautiful, awesome, WOW!
www.youtube.com/live/lZHcO5X... Live cctv from ospreys that have 4 chicks. Last one not yet fledged. Poole harbour uk
Magikarp used Splash *it does nothing* Divebomb Dave at it again. 😊
Love and adore ospreys.
Wow
Hmm, my idea of fly fishin…..
Wow
I wonder how fast they are going when they hit the water?
An expert fisherman. No hooks or nets, or fishing line left behind to torture the remaining sealife.
Is that a sunfish? If it is, it must be a young one, or that's a REALLY BIG BIRD!
Looks like a keeper to me. My all time favorite fish! Well, maybe a tie w halibut, but pompano is an honest fish you can catch from the beach.
FANTASTIC picture! Noble bird!
Sick? Or slick?
🙏🏼🎯
Wow!
Stunning
I saw one a couple of days ago at the park I frequent. It kept circling and hovering, circling and hovering, but unfortunately saw nothing likely. ☹️
Amazing, i feel so sorry for the fish though..still, not like humans who just dredge the seas and rivers..
That fish is still flapping, some real strong grip in those talons.
Yet they fold those talons under and creep on ~knuckles when in nest with chicks. It’s remarkable to see.
We had a Bengalese eagle owl for thirty years, if something startled her her grip tightened. I was always glad I made our glove, I got a bit of elephant ear (I know) from a leather worker, even she could have gone through one of those commercial gloves for falcons + small hawks, never mind an osprey
From my archive. I ~think this is our former Mom Osprey at the Cape Cod Museum of Natural History.
Renee, Incredibly beautiful composition, juxtaposing the watchful eye of Mom Osprey, her fearsome talons, and those so vulnerable eggs! Bravo to whoever snapped that portrait. 🏆 #wildlifephotography
A screen cap from the livestream, by me☺️ The museum keeps a camera on that nest platform every year. Osprey are very successful fishing here, and return swiftly with large fish.
Amazing!
Very bad luck for the poor fish. :(
That was just beautiful to watch. Thanks.
Wow!
When we were young, we used to catch fish and throw them in the air. The Osprey would swoop down and catch it.
Lunch!
Hey, those Iranian drones are really coming along
This is absolutely awesome!!!
I definitely was not expecting that fish to be so big. What an amazing video.
A bird could do so many fucken muscle ups
Truly great video
Wow!!! The amazing hunter!!! 👏👏👏
Lost it's prey 😞 magnificent creatures
There is a nesting pair in Braithwaite Cumbria they put up a live feed into their nest so we can watch them is Keswick’s visitor centre
I had a second home on the water and used to watch them all the time. Once they had their prey, they would perch on top of a pylon and feast!
Indeed; I'm blessed! ☺️
Lucky you! I watch several Osprey bird cams-they're incredible birds 💗🦅
Wow amazing
you are lucky their hands are full because that bird did not appreciate the paparazzi
Great shot!! WOW!! Loved it😍
There are plenty of Ospreys where I live. In nesting season they fly at the treetops and break off the branches of dead trees mid-flight for nesting material. It’s amazing to watch. Same technique as fishing- feet first and hit hard.
Wow 👏🏼👏🏼😊💖big fish 🐟 to munch on
Brilliant! But absolutely doesn't need the music. These birds are soooo cool! Thank you xx
Ospreys are great. I used to do volunteer work for NH Audubon observing and documenting their nesting behavior.
But nowhere near as fast as the Peregrine Falcon- 242mph air speed. Also the South American Condor
Wish I could catch a pompano 😋🤯🤩
For the record, eagles can't do that. They'd end up doing the swim of shame.
Just imagine the absolute power and strength it takes to divebomb that water, snatch a big fish, and then, with no solid base to support it, propel itself up and out of the water with that fish. Incredible!
Damn.
One of the best things about living on my beloved beautiful Columbia River is seeing birds' fish.
Everything about the Columbia is beautiful.
so true, it is my happy place
We had a massive Osprey nest at a park near the Hillsborough River in Tampa and it included someone’s discarded scarf keeping two Osprey chicks warm. The parents took turns hunting to feed the chicks.
They're wonderful parents, too! I watch several Osprey bird cams, and it's amazing to watch the mom spread her wings to shield her babies from the hot sun 🌞
Beautiful shot.
And the fact that that fish was likely freaking out under the water but the osprey didn’t blink an eye—I thought he missed until he flew out with it
At the “Osprey” later that night. “and the fish was this (spreads wings) big!”
😂
They only do that when they fail to catch it. When they’ve caught something all their friends see the catch, so exaggerating is impossible. Ospreys have amazing eyesight and they all know it.
My favorite bird of prey.
This video was filmed by Mark Smith. He's got an account on Instagram and I love all his osprey (and other) videos. As he likes to say on his Instagram feed: Glad I'm not a fish!
Thank you for mentioning his account on IG, I just followed him!
Absolute sheer power and majesty
Very impressive thank you for sharing
And they say only the hummingbird uses both sides of it's wings for lift...
Amazing visual, and diving skills. Seen a couple in my time but I was particularly young then. That dive almost reminds me of another particular Osprey who does sick dives… 😅
Wow totally amazing photography! I love to watch ospreys but I've never gotten all that out of it. What a powerful bird.
Fish tinking " F..., F..., F..."
In the fish world
And just like that…lunch is ready! Sunday sushi.😃🐠
I love watching these magnificent creatures.
Love all raptors 👍👍👍❤️👏
That’s awesome
As they say, Wait For It!
Nothing short of spectacular!! Amazing video.🦋
Got its dinner!
Was waiting on that fish…👏
💕💕💕💕
Fantastic!
POWER move!
That is cool
Wow!
The Osprey must have been the prototype for dragons
These things are huge, like a 6-foot wingspan. That's a big fish
Beautiful birds. To watch them catch fish in Cairngorm lochs is a top of the league experience. Have never been quick enough to video it though.
This video is incredible! Capturing this moment was a sick move too. Yay videographer!
📌 wow, what a great Osprey shot!
Good Lord - This bird is terrifying and amazing!
Absolutely majestic take-off afterwards. Fish: "Oh bu**er!"
Stunning capture.
Incredible
9.9; 9.8; 9.9 👏👏👏
Wow
I live in Florida they are 🔥 when it comes to hunting
I'm fortunate to live where there are Ospreys and they are endlessly entertaining and impressive to watch.
There was a fledgling that the parents were trying to get it out & about. So I spent the whole day listening, from my house, to that young bird screaming his head off every time his parents got a little too far from him. Man, what a racket! You would have thought someone was murdering that bird. 🤣
We watch them on the Oregon coast along with the bald eagles!
We are also fortunate to live where there is a substantial population of these awesome birds.
One came and graced the farm. This bird is one of my favorite birds that I've ever been lucky enough to see.
The pairs split up when they fly south but reconnect upon returning. Interesting concept…
I sit and watch my Osprey 1 mating couple, with 3 chicks every day. 9/10 they get their fish.
That fish had no chance! Good bird!
I love how it gets all supermodel-ish when it comes out of the water.
I bet is to quickly scout for competition or other danger.
Yes, she does have that undefinable “look at me” quality. She seems to be aware of light and camera angle.
Exactly
Right?!? It could definitely do a shampoo commercial at the very least 🤣✌️🇦🇺.
Ursula Andress eat your heart out! 😁
#savepalestine🇵🇸💔 #Save_Palestine_It_is_Exterminated
Fabulous video!
Must take an incredible amount of effort to lift off from the water with a wriggling fish of a similar size to the bird like that
Everything about Ospreys is awesome. Not only are they striking at such speed, they are compensating for the diffraction and swells. Pretty phenomenal .
Wow, that is impressive
They are the greatest.
👏
📌
So incredibly beautiful!
🙋✊👏👍
The true Seahawk
Few nesting around my area. It's a treat to hear them calling out too. Very distinct.
Looked like a takeout run for dinner
Thanks!!!!
Awesome Thanks for thes wonderful images
Wow!
And the judges give 10's across the board! 😎
Great video, but the unnecessary/low-frame-rate slow-mo and music make it a lot worse than the normal-speed footage with original audio would have been.
Great video. Not sure though what do you mean by the second sentence.
Stunning........incredible photography.......
The fabulous head shake as it pops out 💕
If only actual Justice could be as swift as the Osprey! And if criminals & felons were their preferred diet 🦅
What an incredible capture. I love how the Osprey is just at home and water as it is in the air. Thank you.🙏☺️📷
Beautiful creatures.
They're better fishermen than me.
OMG, I have goosebumps. That is truly amazing.
The power of those wings! To lift off, straight up and away from “in the water” wth the additional weight of a pretty substantial fish is an amazing feat.
Aerial grappling hooks. I'd say the stomach, mouth, and eyes are all in agreement on the size of the catch.
That big fish is probably a meal for his young ones, too.
Wow
My brain: wonders if osprey get water up their noses doing this...
Thanks for the wonder.
THAT. IS. AWESOME.!!! Thank you!
The amount of sheer power it took to take off from the water after a dead stop and talons full of fish! Amazing. And beautiful. 😍
Holy moly, that's a big, heavy fish! I think this osprey is under the impression that s/he's a harpy eagle.
Osprey are little bad a$$es. I’ve seen one carrying two fish at a time.
That fish is huge! Flounder? Must be thinking “yo, WTF?”
Looks like a Pompano fish.
Fish murder captured on film! Phil Flounder was on his way to work when he was brutally murdered by an unknown assailant. Will King Triton do something about these invaders from above?!
I would strongly advise not using this fishing method. "The Kamikaze Method", looks like it really hurts
Holy moly!!
I love the direct look at the camera. He knows he is badassed and I am here for it.
Lovely. I'm enjoying my morning coffee to the sounds of the osprey nest. Just returned the random front yard fish to the water. Maybe they will find it. In spite of the chaos in the world life is good.
Amazing!!! How he's looking towards the camera.
Pompano time.
It’s amazing, but I always feel bad for the prey. I love the underdog!
I can't help but wish that they were this majestic but also vegan.
I know sorta wish he killed the fish before it had to hang in the air.
Welp maybe putting blood in the water brings sharks? If there is a school of fish that size there then other bigger prey is stalking it too.
Form: 10 Catch: 10 Exit launch: 11
Astounding!
Wow! Is it a Tuna this Osprey caught? I doubted its ability to take off after that dive. But those mighty wings lifted both bird & prey. Beautiful.
The strength of this animal is incredible!
Fabulous video! I shared space with an osprey nest for a time. Spectacular to watch. And their call is a very loud “chirp” which I can identify easily!
That’s no “minnow” feat!
It’s like a major sick move in the bird world…. Literally diving onto the victim.
This is the first time hearing this phrase ‘sick move’. Interesting….
So incredible!
We had osprey down the New Jersey shore when I was a kid. Huge nests on telephone poles! Majestic is right. We went from our city house, withe pigeons and sparrows, to the shore, with Osprey and horseshoe crabs. It was quite a switch for summer.
Pompano?! Nice catch!
Stunningly amazing!!💕
