This is a bananas thing to say. I don’t think a single trans person I know owns one, and it’s a topic my friends and I talk about sometimes. All of us know that opportunity is dangerous when you’re depressed, and who the fuck isn’t with this country the way it is

I think it’s important to acknowledge the right-wing white supremacist/outright Nazi shit the MN shooter believed, but they outright said “The message of this is there isn’t any message.” This was an extremely nihilistic, depressed person, living in a country that taught them to hate themself.
When you feel like you have nothing to live for, you’ll do irrationally things. When you’re constantly hearing the worst possible people 24/7, it makes sense for those things to be very terrible. It doesn’t excuse what they did, but this is a very observable human pattern 😕

Because the two I know have a pattern: religious schools from anti-LGBT denominations that the shooter attended.
