That's exactly what I would expect to see. The video capture software makes one file per day. I don't think they are lying, they are just dumbasses that don't understand forensics. They should have just released the two files.

Someone understood forensics enough to edit it. In normal times the gov would explain how the video was obtained, what process it went thru, etc. Maybe like you said they are just dumbasses and not lying intentionally. My concern is they are just feeding more conspiracies.

The video solution is from 1999(allegedly). The vendor may be out of business. In any case, there's obviously not a plan for either the vendor or some trusted 3rd party to attest that the video is complete and authentic.

I deployed a similar system to production in 2000 and it wouldn't shock me if it was the same vendor.

The press secretary said the CCTV system was 'old, from 1999' or something like that. There was a vendor called 'Patriot Systems' or something like that that was selling a shit-ton of digital cctv systems into institutional customers around that time.
