Blind trusts are better. They may have stocks they owned before entering office.They will have to pay steep taxes on any gains.I would prefer to see audits done identifying any stock purchases that could be tied to insider information, forcing sale and docking gains.

What is the cost of taxes on stock that is sold? It's a substantial loss. State and federal taxes would equal about 31%. Just don't allow them to trade or buy while in office. They don't need to sell what they have going in, but are welcome to sell if they desire to do so.
