Can't help but ask: what would the French do? Or the Germans? Or in Argentina, Canada.... Would their resistance be "ok let's make speeches, merch, & fingers crossed for the next national vote"? It's disheartening.

I don't think anyone is "crossing fingers and waiting for the next national vote." None of the examples I gave are electoral in nature. Would I like to see more and wider outrage? Sure. But we're still in early days here and people are fighting. Trump is also seeing his popular support collapse.
I'm not blaming or fighting you, I'm just so stunned that literally the government & democracy are being dismantled in front of our eyes and I'm not seeing what I wish I was seeing.
