Sorry, but when was "more cops" ever the answer? If crime is down, there is less of a need for cops, so there should be fewer cops. Every profession tends to justify their existence. Government is among the worst offenders, and within government, law enforcement is among the worst of the worst.

It's the answer when Newsom is doing everything in his power to keep masked marauders, the marines, the army, and battalions of federalized national guard out of our state. We are no longer in the position to have conversations based on an environment that no longer exists. Pls don't normalize.

Increasing the police force will never be a determining factor against Trump's war on Blue states. It will, however, cost me money with no benefit for a decade, perhaps a generation. It's a mindless political decision that may make sense in the very short-run but cause harm in the long run, as usual

If it somehow keeps iq47 out or in a best case scenario provides a barrier, it's a price to stay alive that I'm willing to pay.

I half agree and half disagree. We should 1) abolish the CHP entirely, and 2) bring the few CHPs who can actually find the safety on their weapons to start doing real police work rather than using undercover tactics to sneak up on families enjoying their vacations or businessmen headed to L. A.
