I mean, two GOTY front runners, Blue Prince and Expedition 33, were <= $50 standalone titles. Lost Records, Eternal Strands, and Split Fiction, too.

ahh gotcha - maybe just too unplugged for the scene now except for ps5. I guess I'm just too nostalgic for the good ole days when you could walk into a rental store or zellers Walmart etc and there's a hundred diff titles for all genres - not just the top 4 sports, fps, franchise games only

I don’t mean to be a contrarian or a downer, but if you don’t follow the industry or listen to podcasts etc, you don’t know about those games. The average blue collar dipshit (me and my co workers) have never heard of them. If you have kids a passive gamepass subscription is crazy right now.
