Yesterday we went grocery shopping and although the US berries were cheaper, we bought all Canadian grown at a higher price. We did get our money’s worth as the Canadian berries were beautiful. Sorry not sorry. 🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦

Thank you. Please keep it up.
Hopefully we can all be friends again when the felon is gone
It’s going to take a very long time. Not even when he’s gone, because the magat whackadoodles are still there.
We're due some tough love down here. More power to ya.
As an American, thank you for keeping the pressure on.
Democracy tastes sweeter
As an American, please keep doing this. A great many of us are on your side of this.
Ditto. We've decided we'll buy less, pay more and buy local/Cdn.
Wiser to do so as well - all of the cuts to food inspection in the US makes it a literal health risk to eat anything from there!
🎯
I buy local now
boldmotion42.blogspot.com?m=0
Not quite as dramatic, but we'll take all the Luigi help we can get.
Some days I feel like I'm one of the few people doing this. I'll always pay more rather than succumb to American produce.
Same. You're not alone.
Same.
We here in the US PNW get most of our produce from Canada and Mexico. NAFTA is still a thing here. Should I stop buying?
Thats up to you but no one to blame but that lying wannabe president pos rapist pedophile murderer convicted felon taco . He us the only one to blame for ruining the the u.s and why theu are being left out all the trading going worldwide and now globally the u.s proved they are not trustworthy.
Bought Canadian cherries...they were delicious!
As an American, please boycott US products.
Yup. Same here.
We did the same. Bought Canadian cherries and we savoured them patrioticly.
Don’t know what Province you live in but WA & OR still friendly. Totally get it though Thanks for being a strong good Country 🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦
Consider it an investment in the only form of democratic input you have left to give.
Ooohhhh. This sounds like a lovely idea for my shopping trip this week. I'll have to look and see which stores near me carry such a yummy treat!
But we’ll still be here when Trump is gone.
WTF are you talking about? First you tell me to fuck off then you ramble on about shit. Bye bye
You fo you, Canada.
Is that a typo or are you telling me to fuck off?
Just saw your question. It was a typo. Supposed to say you do you, Canada. Followed by a gentle reminder that the US still will be here when Trump dies. I don’t care if you block me. I didn’t say anything to apologize for
Elbows up!!
I picked up some 🇨🇦Canadian blueberries in a Canadian store the other day for $1.79/basket. The next day the same berries in the same store were $3.49/basket. I’m sure the grocery chain wasn’t gouging. The berry pickers probably had a wage increase overnight. Report the gougers in Canada!
Yeah, this is really bugging me. Regular Canadians are doing everything we can to support Canada but Canadian companies have no such loyalty. Their greed knows no bounds. Whatever tariffs add to products from the US, Cdn companies with no tariffs will raise their prices to match or exceed.
Right on!
I hear you!... I buy Canadian and other foreign products more than I buy American products!... Prices are HIGHER for Domestic products too!... Foreign foods are HEALTHIER!... They are not created irresponsibly like American Products are!!
Vote with your wallet! Well done. 👏
America says keep doing it until Trump is gone
I live in Downeast Maine, where the wild blueberries grow... however, I rarely buy blueberries because Wymans has ruined our lands up here with their chemicals... nope!
Keep it up! If Canada can make new trade alliances without the U.S. involved it will be to its benefit over time.
Some things are worth it!😀👍
The US ones were probably flown in from South America.
My grocery store has started labeling some products as Made in Canada. Of course I'm in Florida, MAGAland, so that's probably to stop MAGA from buying them.
Many of us here in the US understand completely.
Don’t be sorry.
Please keep boycotting us!!!! Every little bit of resistance helps.
Try to find a local farmer. I stopped buying alot of veggies, eggs once i found a local farmer same price better quality.
Cape Charles Va 23310 Food Lion Strawberries $2.50/pt Blueberries $2/pt A Great food medicine 💊💉 👀
Y’all care about berries more than the security of your fellow canuck for internet brownie points and it shows
I had a choice between Canadian sugar & US sugar last week at the local Chef's Store. I bought Canadian to support my northern neighbors.
I’m jealous of Canadians. They have a country they are proud of.
What's weird is that when I go to the grocery store in the U.S., I don't see U.S. berries, I see Mexican berries and Canadian berries.
That’s because they’ve deported all of the workers who pick them.
Or they are in hiding, afraid to show up for work. If they can swoop on and pluck firefighters off the line, nobody is safe in an orchard or warehouse.
The other day I was thinking of the karma of having some of those ICE “agents” lose their homes in a wildfire.
start.me/p/L1rEYQ/osi... Be a shame to identify them
Labor automation has indeed transformed many industries, but human adaptability remains our greatest asset.
Those berries from the US probably tasted like berry flavored cardboard anyways. That's a far distance for them to travel.
Agreed - Californian strawberries are just strawberry flavoured textured water by the time they get up here. Local in season and/or greenhouse grown locally are way better!
Yes, I completely agree with you!
Your tomatoes are damn good too!
Don't be sorry! My country's leadership is a bully! Elbows Up my Canadian friends!🇨🇦🤗
👏👏👏👏
Yup. I haven’t been able to find any apples yet that aren’t product of USA so we are doing without for now. Thankfully there are lots of Niagara peaches and nectarines to fill in the gap. Nothing beats a Niagara peach.
In the GTA we're seeing about 50/50 for apples this month. Half American, a lot of those just sitting there. Fuji from China, one or two kinds from elsewhere, and then the rest Canadian - and some of those local.
When we buy tomatoes at our local Acme we ONLY buy “Flavor Bombs”. Hothouse tomatoes grown in Canada. Just outstanding. Our Sun Gold cherry toms are done for the season so it’s back to the Flavor Bombs. Takes me back to my father’s garden as a kid.
I could not buy sweet potatoes... for 3 months! All becuse they only had USA ones.... when they finaly brought them in from Paraguay, I started to buy them again. #SorryNotSorry!
Thank you ❤️🇨🇦
imo Canadian berries are better too
Had relied on Amazon for book purchases. Yesterday I received my 1st purchase from the university book store. $5 more for shipping, received in 3 days. Buy Canadian 🇨🇦
Sorry you are punishing the wrong people. It’s not USA Farmers who are causing this
Really? Because they’re the ones who voted for Donny.
No, I’M sorry. I’m sorry this is happening.
It's okay. We totally understand. Unfortunately.

Well done 👍👍
Finally I found BC peaches. I couldn't bring myself to buy the US peaches although they were there for a while now.
Niagara peaches! 😋
Nobody cares.
Except you, who cared enough to respond.
I still don't care. You are being conned by the same old leftist twat waffles.
Yet you still care enough to respond. I'd say that's the opposite of not caring. Looks like you're a very caring person.
and I still don't care.
We normal Americans don’t blame you!
Just know that not all Americans support Trump!
I noticed today that my pizza box has a big made in Canada sign on it. Nice.
As an American, thank you and please keep this up.
Canadian berries probably have less pesticides & taste better.most of our produce tastes bland & I have to really soak them to feel safer about it,unless I buy all organic.good on you!
I did the same thing.
That's exactly what OrangeMenace wants! Things not grown/made in one's own country R suspect & should be spurned; Interest & curiosity R dangerous & unnecessary. Attitudes shift from thinking "international" 2 thinking "foreign" Dk what USA berries would have tasted like, but now neither do you.
I’m Texan, and i love this story. I bet those berries were delicious!
Usually tastes better..
Don't blame you at all!
Your stores sell berries from the US? So sorry!
I started experimenting with Kicking Horse Coffee, even though it's somewhat expensive here in the US. But my old coffee is owned by MAGA loving nutjobs. So I am transitioning and I like it!
Especially the ones from Quebec!! They taste like strawberries!!!!!
Everything American made is cheaper in Canada now. And i STILL won’t buy any of it. Fuck that BS.
ELBOWS UP😘
truly the glorious revolution has begun!
Imported berries almost certainly treated with horrible chemicals.
I'm a US citizen, and I want these four years to hurt so bad we never put someone like Trump in power again. We tried to avoid this, but here we are.
🤔🤔
👍
I buy Canadian Maple Syrup and Labatt Blue now.
FYI if you're buying Labatt while in the US, it's a US company (ONLY for within the US). For anyone else reading - don't by Molson Canadian (Coors) either, they supported project 2025.
Currently loving all the Alberta and BC seasonal veggies and fruit. Seeing some neglected US produce aging on the shelf. Yup. Sorry not sorry.
Don't be. Let it rot. #ElbowsUp
While I wish American farmers well, they also overwhelmingly voted for this. So keep it up. Maybe they will learn their choices have consequences, and ignorance is no excuse.
I do the same as Canadian produce cost more for most items in my grocery store but you can't put a price on freedom. 🇨🇦🍁🇨🇦
Stick with not sorry. This govt is pure trash
My Mamma& Papa would say to you Luigi... Hai fatto 'na buona giobba! Got it?
I'm a USA citizen and I support this to I don't like what trump is doing he's causing so many problems soon enough America gonna have its own problems
Keep up the good work. - Fed up American
Brothers up north; do your thing, Americans stand behind you.
Mia Moglie sta facendo lo stesso con i prodotti Americani ed Israliani...e non è di sinistra🫢
Quebec strawberries and blueberries are delicious
I agree but please don't blame Californians. We didn't vote for this obscenity.
Don't be sorry. Keep it up! Don't buy anything made here in America. Stay strong and stand up for yourselves. I wish more people here had done that.
Good job. Keep the boycott going!
Good for you! 👍 I'm an American, but you have to fight against Trump's ridiculous tariffs. ❤️🇨🇦
The tarrifs are the least of the issue. Most of us care more about the threats of invasion that keep coming up weekly, you know.
I understand. You do realize the majority of Americans support Canada and don't want your country as a 51st state, right? We want you as an ally. Try being nice to those of us who feel this way.
I do realise that too. But a lot of Americans (especially news, and state officials trying to appeal to us to give them all our money) are trying to play this off as just about the tariffs. It's way beyond that, as you acknowledged in your reply. Stay safe down there.
Apology accepted. The Tariffs have been outlawed but will be maintained for some stupid period and may still be overturned by the supreme court. The extended time may be to give the Orange Shit Bag less of an argument on appeal to the Supreme Stench.
The tarrifs aren't the main reason we're doing this. You do realise they keep bringing up invading us every week or so, right? Plus you know, not supporting that entire regime is a bonus too.
Megan, Yes. Tarrifs are what started it. I also support your reasoning. My president is a dipshit.
Well done!🇨🇦🍁
US-ian here and I support Canada's boycott of US goods wholeheartedly I'm aware that our political sickness is spreading north and I am steadfast with you in resisting the bullshit Thank you!
If they grow your berries locally, it's best for the Earth that you try to buy those ones always. It costs more for you but imagine how many flights there are all over our continent just moving food around in Canada, the US, and Mexico. I live in Maine so I get that might not always be possible.
I don't trust anything food related with the "Made in U.S" tag 😑🙅🏽♂️
Elevate Your Brand with Timeless Design: Let’s Create Something Iconic!
I seriously would not buy anything from the US!! I try to buy as little as possible. It is even hard to trust the label when it says organic because we have no government oversight anymore!!
shame on the shop for stocking them - hope they go bad on the shelves or better still they have to sell them off for pennies and lose money on them - at least food isnt wasted then
#Safeway, #FreshCo, and #Sobeys (all owned by the same company) are still continuously stocking huge amounts of US produce. I refuse to buy any produce from their stores any more and buy it elsewhere.
👍🤩
💙🇨🇦
Canadian grocery stores should not even be selling American berries right now! My grocery store had peaches from the States last week ...it is peach season here in Canada 😡
We drove down to Niagara on the Lake for a bushel of peaches. Sooo good.
Understand completely. No offense taken. 😢💙🇺🇲
Wash And put them in a glass jar. They will last longer!
I also have been doing this. The thought of protecting our Canadian farmers and supporting our local economy helps a LOT in measuring value vs. monetary cost.
the further north berries are grown the juicier and sweeter, we find this in Scotland 🏴 v English 🏴 grown ones.
I live in The States and most of the produce I have access to at my local grocer is from some other country.
Vive le Canada
👏🏻👏🏻 🇨🇦 👏🏻👏🏻
Well that was dumb!
As an American: Thank you. The fascists only understand money and power. Punching them in the face with boycotts makes them pay a price for their evil against freedom-loving people everywhere. It’s the only thing that will work.
What did Mario say?
Yeah, no. You definitely don’t have to be sorry. Our berries here suck. They look real pretty in the supermarket, then you get them home and find the middle of the carton is all mold. Get your money’s worth.
And who could blame you 😞
Well done, from a random somehow sane American,
We grow our own berries and either can or freeze them for use throughout the year. This year we bought some high price berries from Canada, which will mix with our home grown. Go Canada!
Me too!!!!!! I say shame, shame when I see people putting USA produce or items in their carts lol. I don't care. Maybe I should buy a bell and ring it when a customer buys American ! 🇨🇦🍁❣️
Doing the same in our household. Supporting Canadian, leaving US products/produce on shelves. I would sooner pay a little more to support our own especially in light of the LUNATIC who's in charge of regulations of the FDA! Elbows UP! NEVER 51! True North Strong & FREE Forever!
So, you're admitting to being terrorists.
Good for you,
Every purchase is a vote
Hey we understand!
Who are you stickin' it to? US farmers?
Actually, US farmers got us where we are bc they are all rump supporters, so good deed.
American here. Visited Toronto this summer & loved how the produce & other goods were tagged with the country of origin. I bought 100% Canadian while visiting.
💯.. I go without before I buy rusian state shit from USSA. Elbows up
Don't buy American. -signed, An American.
American here and appreciate you for doing what's right.
Yesterday I was in Safeway in Vancouver and their russet potatoes were product of USA. Canada produced 12.82B lbs of potatoes last year and they're are buying American? I put back the rest of my groceries, left and went to a local grocer where they stocked Canadian grown.
Safeway and FreshCo (both Sobeys companies) in Richmond shamefully and continuously stock a large amount of American produce. It's why I won't buy produce of any kind in those stores. Lots of great alternatives.
Hi:)! US citizen here. Keep up the good work Canada! 🇨🇦
As far as I know, I have not bought any US items and have also paid more for Canadian or other countries, it’s worth every single penny. We are causing lots of financial pain, otherwise shitler wouldn’t keep trying to talk to the PM.
Texan here. Keep it up. We don’t have any immediate solutions and it’s overwhelming.
Probably a heck of a lot less pesticides, lot safer. I am jealous as a progressive stuck in the Hell of States of America.....
Continue to kick the USA in the berries.
Never apologize for depriving despots of your hard-earned dollars. Keep those elbows up, neighbor.
We have not earned your money! We're currently under siege and economic pressure can help. Please boycott the US.
The farmer’s market near me (north of Pittsburgh) brings in strawberries from Quebec all summer once theirs are done for the season. They are delicious and well worth the extra few dollars. I would buy them all the time if I could.
We have berries? I thought the US got most their berries from Mexico
California, for strawberries. Sometimes blueberries from northern states. But yeah most of OURS is either our own greenhouses or Mexico, sometimes Peru for the blueberries. We've got to stop them sending up the strawberries...
They do but the biggest marketer of those berries is from california so no thanks. 🇨🇦
No matter what the circumstances are or what country you live in everyone should support their local farmers because the most important thing is food security. It may cost a bit more but it’s usually better quality & when stuff goes awry you need food & clean water first & foremost.
YAAAS! I’m trying to buy Canadian and Mexican products. I also notice some of our domestic producers are still raising prices. Because they can.
I live in the US, if I find produce from Canada, I buy it!!!!!!
sorry not sorry
This fight is at a higher level, most Americans don't support any of this shit, so go ahead and keep trying to destroy humans and f'off
I don’t blame you at all 💙
Don't be. 😘
No sane Anerican blames you.
Thank u for your assistance to us in America fighting Facism 💪🇺🇸
I could buy Arizona-grown or California-grown, but I might just buy Mexican-grown, despite whatever tariffs, to subvert their whole stupid agenda. ¡Solidaridad! ¡Por tierras fronterizas libres y abiertas! ✊🍅 🇲🇽🤝🇺🇸🤝🇨🇦
I'm used to seeing only US strawberries in my local Ottawa grocery. Had BC strawberries for the first time ever in July and every single one in the package was beautiful.
Great. But why are you still on BlueSky…it’s an American enterprise. You should leave. Today would be nice.
👏🏼👏🏽👏🏿
Buy the best. I love berries too! I always buy the best ones too.
👍👍
Good job 👏
Always support your local growers if you can. Their money feeds back to your community US berry money leaves the country. OR try growing your own berries! They are quite easy.
👏👍
It is ironic being from (embarrassed to say) from the US, a fair amount of our fruit comes from Mexico. And if I ever see anything coming from Canada, I choose Canadian goods over ours EVERY TIME! Thank you for not buying our CRAP. Yours will definitely be worth a slightly higher price!!
If spending more money gets your rocks off, go for it 🤣
Taking these to the Wearing these at the Labour Day Parade Labour Day Parade
I had the choice of Cherries so of course BC Cherries was in my home! Sorry! Not sorry!
If it's available, always choose local. Always! I'm a complete south central Washington cherry🍒 snob myself. I'm grateful for my "industry connections" that slide me an overflowing baggie of humongous Rainiers every season.
Yes! Im trying to support those poor cherry orchard owners even though at my store its about $11.00 for a bag. And there aren't as many as there has been in the past.
Noble cause supporting local growers seasonal scarcity often drives prices up while quality remains exceptional.
A thoughtful choice supporting sustainable agriculture. The price reflects fair compensation for smaller harvests and quality preservation efforts.
I'm fortunate to have access to locally owned fruit stands. I have no problem paying for QUALITY produce. I bought a bag of Rainiers at a regional supermarket chain. The fruit was pathetic for the💰. I'd rather stop on the east side of Puyallup going up the 410 at a roadside canopy for Yakima 🍒
Agree!
They cut the orchard down? Sold the land !
Im sorry..I meant there aren't as many bags of cherries for sale this year. My store usually has a big section produce full of bags of cherries. Today there were 8 bags tucked in among other fruit. Right now WA apples are about 4$lb. We'll what happens next month .
Progress often demands difficult choices, but nature's loss is deeply felt.
This rules I’m following
I’m not from Canada can you explain this in mass shootings?
Thank you. My response apparently landed very WRONG with one Canadian who chose keyboard violence. That's on him. I support MY locals just like he supports his. That's fine. Maybe I was wrong and chose a bad skeet to respond in.
Oh a blue sky post is a skeet. Y’all that can’t stick.
You must support them! They lost an export market and also lost Canadians who would cross into Washington state for a weekend trip and buy things …
but why is Canada still importing American berries?
I do the same. Right now the only grapes (one of my favourite fruits) in the stores are from the U.S. I will not buy them.
Ours stocks grapes from Peru and a couple other places here in Ontario. Maybe see if the store manager might take suggestions?
I did exactly the same thing yesterday! Yes, I paid s bit more but they are sweeter and the feeling of f--king America made them even sweeter! LETS HEAR IT FOR THE BOYCOTT!
🫐🫐Berries as resistance! 🫐🫐
🇬🇪
You are doing exactly as you should be doing! I shop small businesses whenever I can, I really try to avoid big corporation's businesses when I can!
I buy anything labeled “Canada”.
Me too 🙂
That's not good enough. Lots of American products are slapping maple leaves on their labels. You need to see something like these:
1. 100% made-in-Canada products with all-Canadian ingredients may say "100% Canadian"
2. "Product of Canada" means that at least 98% of the total direct cost of producing the item were incurred in Canada. Pretty much safe to say that means it was made in Canada, by Canadians, with Canadian ingredients, with negligible imported elements.
3. "Made in Canada": more than half of the total direct cost of producing the item was incurred in Canada.
This is so stupid
Please continue. Don't come here or buy our products until Shitler is gone.
❤️🍁👍👏🤜🤛🇨🇦👊🇺🇸💯🎯❤️
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Along with many Americans, I hope we can repair the damage between our two nations when convicted felon Trump is gone.
I’m American and gladly support you! The other day I was buying blueberries at my grocery store, I noticed on the label that these particular blueberries were from Canada so I bought them with much pleasure 😍
As an American, it really hurts to see my country go after our neighbors like we have been. I love Canada. It also sucks seeing our workers suffer because of the retaliation to our tariffs. But I 100% understand not buying our products, and I wouldn't ask anyone to.
👊🏼🍁
Yup. Easy choices. 👍
🇨🇦❤️
Hey, I hear u.
I live in California and all the fruit I buy is from South America
I do the same. I love fresh beets, can only find grown in USA, will not buy.
Beet harvesting is close here where I am.
I’m an American and support this wholeheartedly.
Same.
Me too!
I live in Vermont and I support your choice 100%.
Same here My sense is that the local blueberries, and blackberries are better. We also now see South American sourced produce which is very high quality compared to the past uniform American fare. One thing to consider is us food processing is highly centralized hence the prone to food issues.
Thank you from an American
I do the same and buy Scottish produce rather than British 🏴🏴
It’s getting a lot easier to boycott and I’m all for it
The best strawberries I have ever had were from Canada!
Keep up the good work! Thanks from Texas!
As a disgusted American, let me say your country should NEVER have to say “sorry” after how our lummox if an excuse for a “president” has shit on you as he has. America needs to learn how NOT to install the WORST humans possible into positions of immense power and influence.
