I see a pattern. Keep the citizens uneducated, and feed them lies about the other party being the source of all their problems. I call this pure evil.

Many of their voters have bought into the "only Jesus can fix it" magical solutions propaganda. "Just put God back in charge, and it will all work out" is a common quote from the Talibangelists.
