Yes-wild turkeys fly! I (and it) had a near death experience when one flew past my windshield (still hard to understand how)
i’m glad you both are ok
yes, it was a weird and scary event-they’re big!
At least you don't have to check the trees for sheep.
But only at night
Just go to the grocery store like everyone else
free country demands free tree grown turkey
You can tell they're ripe when they can't fly anymore.
I was hiking on a steep wooded mountainside and a big male took off and flew off the side. Ridiculously loud wing beating and a large amount of crashing into lower branches. I almost rolled down the mountain. Thought a tree was falling or a bear was running down the slope. Just a dinosaur.
They mostly roost on the ground in shrubbery, if that helps.
Turkeys which are also much smarter than food turkeys. Ages ago a family friend thought he was buying real turkeys - they were food turkeys. The entire flock drowned during a rainstorm. Due to looking up to see what was hitting them on top of their heads, mouths open. For the rest of their lives
It’s not a safe feeling to have thirty lb bird on a branch above your head.
