thought a lot about this. if you are disabled or w/ chronic illness, and you feel you need to move to a blue state to continue accessing the health care you rely on, you should do it. it’s not an easy decision, and it’s one i’m still making. but we don’t need abled people passing judgment on it.

I'm trying to get a job in a blue state but damn it's hard.
My blue state is being screwed by the NIH cuts, and our economy is sliding.
i’d go as far as saying this has been one of the more difficult decisions of my life. i love my state. i was born here. it’s my home, with all its faults and failures. my family is here, and my community. i wanted to raise my kids here. i don’t want to leave, but i will probably have to. :(

Why the hell is anyone weighing in on where anyone else wants to live? And why should anyone give a damn what they think?
From my perspective, ableism and abled people have worked hard to kill me, marginalize me, & add additional unnecessary burden to my life. I think abled people telling disabled/ill others that we should do X for politics despite Y is a continuation of our oppression.
If at all feasible, MA made healthcare universal. It still means the marketplace but the northeast, sans NH, has announced already they're in talks about the vaccine standards and they covered all childhood vax's for un/underinsured families way before the ACA. Housing cost is a barrier though.
Maine is a bit less expensive for real estate but the blue-ness is definitely concentrated in the Portland area. They have Graham Platner looking promising to take over Susan Collins' seat in the Senate. Maine has some great progressive laws and has been a strong defender against Trump admin threats
And of course, Vermont. 🐦
