@baileytownsend.dev damn we really gotta explore that app concept cause i want stuff like this
So you're saying that we should 🥁..... step up and do this? pdsls.dev/at://did:plc...
or take the next step in planning. (okay I think that's the last one)
Really though….. it’s an iOS only solution but it’s not too bad to get your steps from your phone to your PDS as a record via shortcuts, then have a labeler that checks for accounts with that record and add it…. Oh no… it’s happening.
DM'd you on discord, but yeah the automatic side of things can be a bit tricky, but i feel like theres the other angle of manual goal tracking or habit tracking as well for other random things — iOS is easy though for the automation side
>iOS only >solution
I hate to say it, but Apple has really monopolized health data and export in an easy/secureish way with Shortcuts 🫣 During my short stint in the Android world, I didn't really find a solution besides standing up a whole app. Then, it's which health apis to call for it, or use a fitbit for steps
i mean shortcuts aren't a real solution anyway because ambient data gathering can't have an active step
alright you got me. A RP2040 or RP2350 custom step counter and a companion app. Throw in mini games like it's a tamagotchi and can use steps as a currency in the games and writes to your repo
You have my axe
(if you want bluetooth, you probably want an nrf52 instead of an RP2xxx. If you want wifi instead, you probably want an nrf52 and/or an esp32c3)
whole app should be easy tbh. just connect to the api that gives you steps data and post it after each day
