I think it's McSweeney you need to scrap rather than Starmer. Like all good civil servants Starmer is one of life's natural followers - which is exactly why McSweeney selected him for his project.

Starmer needs to acknowledge the considerable damage that Brexit is having on the UK economy and also the meteoric rise of Reform UK in the polls. Bringing in PR would go a considerable way towards negating the dreadful prospect of this party ever securing a working majority at the next election.

Absolutely, however McSweeney's plan is to attract the red wall racists back to Labour. That needs the performative cruelty to foreigners and the total ban on any mention of Brexit or the enormous harm it has caused.

I agree entirely with this being Labour’s plan but it isn’t working and it will not work. Why would a red wall racist vote for an imitation when he or she could vote for the real thing! Labour just needs to be better than that and not take them on at their own game but provide some real solutions.
