And what more would that entail? It’s horrific. We should be doing more. I got a HAWK approved, raised crosswalks, and a full redesign. But I expected that to be done much quicker than it has been. Believe me there is no one who wants safety improvements in this intersection more than I do.

I also asked to protect the bike lane but am being told the road is not wide enough. I may or may not have also purchased my own stop signs….

The stop condition light where when pushed cars have to stop at it. Also speed humps but that was refused too. There’s a lot that goes on behind the scenes. Believe me I am frustrated too.

This location is a textbook example of where a raised crosswalk would lower speeds. They are cheap, work 24 hours a day, and can be used in conjunction with speed humps or cushions if drivers are still too fast.

Ah, I call them crosswalk signals. Yes, get that done. We need to change the speed hump/cushion rules. The humps/cushions were denied on Ewing Drive (in 37207), too. I believe that Metro can change those rules.
