None of those you named actually make cheaper/affordable vehicles. Just let China import their models here. If the NA companies refuse to change to keep up, too bad for them.

Yes they do, affordable has never meant that anyone with a minimum wage job can afford one. Corolla, Sentra, Traxx are all affordable at some of their trim levels. $25K is generally considered "affordable". Corolla mid-trim is under $25K msrp in the US, Traxx under $22K, Sentra under $23K.

But if you mean affordable EV, I'd agree. A Canadian group has just done an affordable EV prototype, but Tesla, Lucid, etc are definitely not affordable. Even the Volt is too much.
