Mother daughter overnight so we were staying inside a building. But we went out to the big fireplace in the parade grounds to have our campfire, sing songs, eat smores before bed. Then we all traipsed to the observation platform to look at stars. We get back to our room, everyone is prepping ...1/2

To sleep and I feel this searing pain on my thigh. Several moms rush over, hold me down, strip off my pants thinking it was a snake and out flies a scorpion. Much screaming ensues. I dont remember much else besides they put baking soda on the sting, told me to shake it off. It was the 70's afterall.
