I can't stand the Conservatives, but who had the great idea to plant fake "scandalous" buttons at a Conservative event? That ridiculous behaviour has no place in the Liberal party and the person who dreamed this up should be fired.

Your frustration is understandable. It was a dumb prank that backfired. However, it wasn't a crime as far as I know. It's now a lesson that the pranksters and other amateurs won't forget. Meanwhile, CPC supporters/staff are vandalizing or removing Liberal signs. That is a crime.

Throwing the immature pranksters under the bus would have assigned too much importance to what was just a foolish incident that caused no real harm. I think PM Carney made the right call.

This wasn't a small mistake someone made. This was planned and executed by someone in the Liberal party and it's disgusting. Letting someone go who thinks this behaviour is ok wouldn't be a knee-jerk reaction, it would be completely justifiable.
