#Knitsky do you swatch? Swatching might feel skippable, but when it comes to garment knitting, it’s a must for me!

I hate swatching. Which is why I knit lots of things that one doesn't wear or scarves/shawls where gauge doesn't matter as much. But yes, for sweaters I swatch.

I had to do three swatches for my last garment! Realising I might be a tight knitter, at least compared to certain designers. I should have swatched for my current pair of socks, as I ended up going up a needle size twice after a significant amount of frogging

No swatching for me. But a previous garment can be a swatch for a subsequent one. I began the gray and white colorwork sweater with a size 5 needle, didn't like the dense fabric so moved up to a 6 and eventually settled on a 7. I used the same yarn for the blue sweater and knew to use a 7.

Exactly, if you like how one of your projects fits it’s the perfect way to choose your size for another project. 🥰
