A rainbow crosswalk in Orlando that was part of the city’s Pulse Memorial was painted over by the state last night at the order of Ron DeSantis. The memorial honored the 49 people fatally shot by a gunman at the Pulse LGBTQ nightclub in 2016 — the largest mass shooting in the country at the time.

This was done by the state Department of Transportation overnight. Orlando was never consulted. According to our authoritarian governor, it’s a political statement and isn’t allowed on the roads. He’s the guy who banned rainbow light displays during Pride and bans books with any LGBTQ+ content.
If the Governor states that signs are distracting and not allowed on the roads, when election time comes around I guess you'd be following the law to take his re-elect signs downs, too.
