I'd like to know if the pesticide levels are the same in Canada and elsewhere (obv not the EU which has rigorous restrictions). That would be yet another good reason to buy anything but u.s. produce.

Purchased some delicious lettuce grown in Guelph with no pesticides. Is the US even inspecting food anymore?
I will go without rather than buy American produce. We have a small garden and will buy other things from local gardeners
I am the same. I don't trust their government, and I don't trust their food. With good reason. Plus, elbows up!

Because I'm not a scientist, and worked in media (or media adjacent) long enough to know news orgs often don't know what they're talking about when parsing info/reporting on scientific studies, I go with fewer unnecessary chemicals as possible. Tastes better anyway.
Me too. And I have a minor in toxicology...
Buying local is always superior, but The Dirty Dozen is useless/misleading at best. www.seattletimes.com/life/wellnes... happyhealthyeaters.com/dirty-dozen/ theoncologydietitian.com/2023/04/28/w...
