That sounds almost reasonable compared to "addicted to ADHD medication" 🫣
That sounds almost reasonable compared to "addicted to ADHD medication" 🫣
I can at least see why they say that since it’s basically meth but try working without it! Lol or doing dishes or …
What am I missing? I get nothing from my ADHD medication except I’m able to focus more when I work. No high, no energy surge, just increased focus & the fog clears up. I’m certainly not addicted & can’t imagine it ever driving me to it. A lot of times I end up with a headache at the end of the day.
I’m the same. I get sleepy though.
People’s stereotypes about stimulant meds for ADHD come from neurotypical roommates who steal the drugs to use them to stay awake for all-nighters or as party drug “uppers,” since the stimulant effect makes them hyperactive & gives them a high instead of calming their brains down & helping focus.
People with ADHD often forget to take their meds without some sort of system
Yeppers
Like I'm an alcoholic who often cannot be arsed to drink, or buy any alcoholic beverages in the first place cause nothing takes my fancy in the shop. This word too perfectly applies right now!
Yes unfortunately that word is apropos Yep, it’s a foundational and weaponized understanding of mental health and medications
*misunderstanding, sorry
I have a pill bottle with a timer in the lid so I know if I’ve remembered to take them.
Smart
I thought ADHD medication was the opposite of a stimulant, something to calm rather than energise as were?
NOPE It’s that stimulants relax us and allow us to focus, otherwise it’s like a mental pin ball machine
Gotcha!
It’s counterintuitive for sure. When I was younger I just needed coffee and a deadline.
Still though. It all feels like... A diabetic is addicted to insulin, a cancer sufferer is addicted to radiation and toxic chemicals, the TB afflicted to penicillin and so on!
Exactly. It’s bizarre and idiotic
It’s eugenicist, is what it is. They hate disabled people for existing and needing help, so they want to get rid of us through separating us from the rest of society by warehousing us in institutions. If they can also make money off our imprisonment, all the better! 🤮
Absolutely, right there with you
Like, at best, they want to bring back 19th century insane asylums and automatically ship every disabled or mentally ill person there the second they show symptoms like The Good Old Days™️.
Read about Curtis Yarvin and dark enlightenment- project 2025 doesn’t list all their horrors
They’re going to kill the elderly and disabled and the homeless remaining will be imprisoned and do forced corporate labor
At worst, the “work cure” is a cover story for outright death camps, or they’ll try to kill us off the slow, passive-aggresive way through inhumane working conditions, forced sterilization, “accidental” murders by the totally-not-prison guards, etc.
Everything you describe is too slow and expensive for their taste
You’re not thinking like a sociopathic tech bro enough yet
Nope. Homelessness will help the pandemics kill most of them and then they’ll just genocide the rest
This feels like the cover story for every institution that’s purported to “help” vulnerable & marginalized people that’s turned out to be pure evil, from the magdalene laundries to residential schools to “troubled teen” work camps.
