If I remember correctly the Black Panthers were community serving and Black supporting where and when such things were not supplied by white government. Their violence was forced by having to defend their work. Is that about right?

I loved "Soul on Ice" by Eldridge Cleaver when I was a teen and new in the US. Gave a much more real understanding of what was happening than all the lies which abounded.
