Because knowing what makes people vote is worth researching. But the people you accuse of writing it all off to economics knew that wasn't true more than 60 years ago.

The strongest of indicator from my PoliSci profs was name recognition. Then party. But that was almost fifty years ago! Be well, Professor! Big fan.
