"Jewish, Muslim, and Christian moms who cheered as their sons played side by side. Seven years later…those boys, now men, are still together on Israel’s national team. Their connection with one another has only deepened."

Zimra Vigoda is the mom of a player on the Israeli national wheelchair basketball team. The team was in the news recently when Great Britain's team turned away from them during Hatikvah, a sign of great disrespect in the sports world.

But the UK team's gesture wasn't only insulting. It was also totally at odds with the Israeli team's diversity. The team is an example of coexistence between Jews and Arabs in Israel. Why would anyone object to that?

They weren't disrespecting the team, the were showing their lack of respect for the anthem, flag, and the country they represent. And who can blame them?

This is what shocks me about the Free Palestine ethos, no matter how many examples I see. Their antics always end up insulting—or outright harming—the very people they claim to support.
