Israel did not "attack its neighbors" in 1948. A half dozen Arab armies attacked the Jewish state hoping to prevent its establishment . They lost, but several hundred thousand Arabs became refugees. Their descendants continue to attack Israel, although most Arab countries are at peace with Israel.

Yeah, I recently saw a documentary about a Muslim leader who got some real influence with the British and acted as some sort of ambassador to unite the Jewish and Muslim population only to rile up the Muslims behind everyone’s back. This lead to assaults in 1948.

In both cases, the Jews who survived often did so because their Muslim neighbors hid and protected them, which I feel shouldn't be left out of the story. But, even if only some of your neighbors want you dead because you are a Jew, that's not "getting along really well," is it?
