You can question Israeli policies and still stand against antisemitism. You can debate politics and still call out violence. Jews are being attacked on a global scale, not because of politics, but just because they're Jews.

Bollocks.. Im not being attacked.. Jews who don't support Zionists are fine.. Only Zionists are being attacked and they deserve it..
Apparently in some corners of the Jewish/Israeli advocacy space you can't do both I think you absolutely can
Honestly I stay out of the Israeli political part, because I don't consider myself well-informed enough to have a valid opinion, for starters. I don't even know all the parts of govt there! And also because FFS, they're under attack. By terrorists. Who fling rockets at them. I can make allowances!
You're a thoughtful & reasonable person
If you’re part of a movement and bigots are regularly using your movement to excuse or justify their bigotry, you have a responsibility to speak out. Spraying Free Palestine on a car, home, or business simply because you see a Jewish symbol is antisemitism.
Agreed. And if you are part of a country that is committing genocide, ethnically cleansing another people and annexing their land, you have a duty to do everything in your power to stop it. Where are the Israeli people?
That’s pure whataboutism.
No it’s not. Whataboutism is when you imply that what you have done is made acceptable by something your opponent has done. I have made it clear that both are unacceptable.
Idk, based on the Merriam-Webster definition I would say that’s a pretty much spot on description of your comment. No mention of needing to imply the initial topic is made acceptable.
People are being antisemitic and it’s wrong. “Whatabout the crimes of Israel!”
I wasn’t responding to an accusation of wrongdoing, I was concurring with it.
It’s not genocide, there’s no genocidal intent so doesn’t meet the definition. The death toll while of course sad, is also below replacement rate at pre conflict birth rates. Only far right politicians in Israel are pushing clearing out Gazans and annexing the strip. Israelis are protesting them rn.
That's the Hamas wish list
