I’m less concerned about the past than I am about the present. The interwar world is a century away and led to unspeakable suffering and death. The present and what has been done and is being done in the occupied territories especially is intolerable.

As a diaspora Jew I can understand desperate people doing desperate things and the harm that can cause. What I can’t abide is people deciding to kill populations and journalists and aid workers and kids for weeks and months because they are angry and don’t give a damn. That’s Israel now.
