Who knows? My theory of the case is that as the left reorganizes and recombobulates itself (a la maga w/o the cult), media strategies are adjusting in real time. Throw shit at the wall. Maybe it works, maybe it doesn't. But naysaying just because it's not personally appealing is frankly stupid.

They are trying to be appealing. And people are letting them know it’s not working. Which is, as one person here put it, like throwing shit at the wall—maybe it works, maybe it doesn’t. This is how they learn which outcome it is.

I take your point, but I hardly think the average Bluesky poster is the person those ads are for, and in any case they don't make up more than a tiny fraction of the voting left and center.

My original point was simply that people need to chill. There's a cohort on the left within the extremely online (and without to an extent) that are loudly contrarian or doomers, and you can see it in the comments. You can't simultaneously want Dems to change and then yell at them when they try.

p. sure the ads are for the demo they've been unsuccessfully courting for decades: centrists, esp right-leaning centrists The people who say "Dems are too outspoken about the transes, it's alienating 'normal' people. Maybe Kamala could've won if she hadn't been pro tax dollars for prison trans ppl"

P.S. GenAI is an insulting cancer on art and creativity as well as the environment. ;)

Which is what I see a lot of in the comments. The pile-on effect is real, critical thinking is at a nadir right now.
