My absentee landlord raised my rent by 11.3% a mere 12 hours after the Scottish rent cap freeze was removed. So I moved out. What shitty experiences have you had with landlords?

Landlord gave us [proper] notice to move out as he wanted to sell up. He didn't sell, but instead put up the rent and let it out to someone else.

Two years ago, London landlord tried to raise our rent 26% despite the building's heating failing four weeks before - we left, but it took over a year to put a temporary (and tempremental) solution in place. Still not resolved.

Previous Landlord decided to just keep "65% of our deposit" as we'd been good tennants. I learned a lot of property law and hyperfocussed on it - so she sent me a series of abusive emails and then, after several months, released the deposit.

Oh, the above landlord was selling the place, so needed us to move ASAP. We were cool about it. It's been 4 years, she still owns the place, but the rent's doubled.
