Start by setting some standards: “do you draw the line at genocide” is a prime example. Decide whether treating EVERYONE with compassion is a core value, or whether some groups deserve compassion more than others, and if so, why. Decide whether, given the past 40 years of data,

you believe that the Democratic Party lurching rightward and adopting (often initiating, & definitely expanding) fascistic policies and practices is a good thing that won’t lead them to become GOP Lite. Oops - too late on that one. Examine your conscience, vote it, and stop electing preferred evil.
