Under communism who owns the means of production and who takes a cut?

In every nation that's called itself Communist so far, the government. What Marx called Communism is irrelevant here, especially when the post is meant to inflame conservatives who abuse the hell out of the term. There's a reason people have started taking to comparing Trump to Stalinism lately.

The Soviet Union and China didnt/don't call themselves communist. They may have been ruled by Communist parties, but at no point did they ever claim to have reached a point where they were communist societies. Their position was "we are working to achieve communism"
