Same. And since it's plastic it breaks down eventually leaving behind more plastic pollution.

No, a lot of it is made of plant fiber. Besides, leather tanning is full of chemicals that pollute & the slaughter business is a massive polluter. Animal agriculture is a leading cause of climate change, worse than all forms of transportation worldwide combined. You need more facts.
I do know and agree that animal agriculture is deeply damaging to the planet. Plant agriculture is too, but not to the degree of animal industrialization. I will keep an eye out for quality, plant-based "leather" products. Phasing out plastics is a long road.
I don't like the plastic problem either but I simply can't support the animal cruelty. Humans will never know peace until we stop using and abusing animals. I appreciate your comments. Thanks.
I didn't add this link. Annoying!

The MAJORITY of non-leather accessories are made of plastic and they disintegrate.
So you prefer the pollution from leather over the pollution from plastic? What about the animal torture?
What are terms to look for which indicate the plant fibre based ones? I've only seen "vegan leather" as a marketing term to make low quality goods made from plastic sound better. More info needed in product descriptions indeed.
Good question. I know apples are used as well as pineapple. The labeling needs to improve. I saw a meme recently from Vegan Street which pictured the various plants used for vegan leather but I don't think I saved it. If I find it, I'll let you know.
